October 29, 2005: Preliminary application for service dog received by Saint Francis of Assisi Service Dog Foundation.
January 2007: Full application process begins
March 2007: Virginia Association of Rehab Nurses donate funds to erect a chain link fence around our entire back yard so that our future service dog will have a place to exercise off leash.
May 15, 2007: The good news comes " You were unanimously approved (by the Board of Directors) as a candidate for one of our service dogs"
May 26 &27, 2007: The fence is erected around the back yard by a group of friends and some members of the local Knights of Columbus.
June, Aug, Oct, Dec 2007 and Feb 2008: Attend candidate classes to learn more about having and taking care of a service dog and learn more about St. Francis of Assisi Dog Foundation.
March 26, 2008: The great news comes: We have been assigned a service dog....Shanti
