On Thurs. 5/15/08 we had an outing with Shanti to an Avalanche game. The biggest obstacle was going through the gate. Wes gave a "go ahead" command. This means Shanti is supposed to go through the gate first and then when he gets in front of Wes he would turn around and facing Wes, would walk backward. Typically at home (in a calm environment with no distractions) Shanti does this quite well. Well, it's a little different out in public. Luckily there was just one person in line behind us and he was willing to wait while we took our time and made Shanti do it right, err, almost right.
Once inside, Shanti did very well. We were in one of the suites with many of the St. Francis folks, which included approx 8 other dogs. It was a nice enjoyable outing for all.
After the ballgame, we made a quick visit to the hospital for Shanti to meet some of the nurses. It was very hard for them not to pet him, but of course Wes gave him lots of lovin' (and rubbed it in to all those who wanted to, but couldn't)
