Thanksgiving....

Well, here it is just a couple hours later than my previous post and Shanti decided what he wanted to do for Thanksgiving. First, he took Wes and Becky for a walk through the neighborhood. He loves when Wes uses his new power chair to go for walks. Actually, for Shanti, it is more like a jog. After a mile or so, Shanti then decided he wanted to walk back to the house so Becky could get her Kroger card and some cash so we could go shopping. (it was also an opportunity for Wes to grab his ball cap which he forgot to put on before the walk) Shanti was very well behaved in the store. He calmy waited while Wes & Becky decided what they wanted to grill for dinner tonight. He did, however, get a little excited when we started talking turkey. (Should we buy one to smoke later? When would we smoke it? How big of a turkey should we get? Do we have room in the freezer? ....you know....turkey talk.) Of course maybe I misinterpreted Shanti's excitement. Maybe he felt left out because he wasn't included in the discussion. He jumped with his front paws on Wes' lap and after getting the attention he demanded, he got off. When we got home, I put the few groceries away, got out a snack and sat down to update the blog while Wes got on the TV to find a movie for us to watch. And Shanti.....well he was pretty tuckered out from the walk. He immediately laid down on his rug and is currently sleeping pretty soundly. Wouldn't surprise me if a Thanksgiving snore will be soon to follow!
