This Saturday morning was cool and crisp and the forecast was for a beautiful fall day. (It is right here that some writers would say something like..."needless to say the forecast was correct". However my thought is always if it is needless to say, than why would you say it? It just doesn't make sense to me. Not that I am any great writer, it is just one of my pet peeves) I had decided the night before that it would be a great opportunity to hike with Shanti and that it would be wise to start early because there would probably be a large amount of hikers. Boy was I right about that one. Fortunately the majority of day hikers start later in the day. When we arrived at the parking lot there were less than 10 cars. As we were leaving a few hours later, the parking lot was jammed (we could barely get out) and cars were lined down 311. Getting out of bed early afforded us the chance to have the top of the mountain basically to ourselves. :)
