Busy Day!

What started off as a normal day, ended up as a day with lots of activity and fun. Wes spent some time out in the backyard power spraying the back patio. Shanti told him it was time to take a break by bringing over his favorite stick to play fetch. Then, when Shanti had enough fetch time he would sit in the yard and gnaw on it for awhile. He did a fine job maneuvering this stick that was probably about as long as he is. Around 4 pm we decided to take a last minute hike back to MacAfee's Knob. We made it up to the top and back down again in record time, about 2.5 hours. (Not bad for a 7 mile hike.) We even had a little time on top to get a drink, have a snack and snap a few pics.

After our hike we stopped home for a bit and then the three of us (Wes, Shanti and I) went out to eat at the local Mexican restaurant. Shanti always behaves so well. He lays under the table quietly. You typically don't know he's there. He did get up a few times and that was only when Wes inhaled a bit of food and started coughing. We have noticed this with Shanti. He is very sensitive to one of us (especially Wes) coughing. He will get up and check to make sure you are alright and he will stay at your side until you instruct him to lay down again.

Our last stop of the evening was to WalMart. We were looking for a few supplies for Shanti. While in the pet isle, we picked out a new toy. Shanti loves stuffed animals. (We found this out when we were out visiting and he tried to claim a friend's Beanie Baby for himself.) So Shanti now has Ellie, his squeaky elephant. He is very gentle on toys. He has never ripped one apart. Now dog slime is another issue! :)
